Cash & Associates has provided structural, civil, and architectural design,
project management, and construction support services for various facility projects at
Conextant Systems, Inc. (formerly Rockwell International Corp.) semiconductor (wafer)
manufacturing facilities. Project experience includes nearly 100 projects focusing
on structural engineering services for new facilities as well as expansion, modification
and/or technology upgrades to existing facilities. Facilities have included
cleanrooms (Class 1-Class 100,000) and associated facilities (i.e., gowning areas),
laboratories, offices, hazardous materials handling/storage, central chiller plants, and
miscellaneous support facilities. Due to the requirements for stringent
environmental controls (i.e., temperature, humidity) and "ultra clean"
environments, work has included the incorporation of sophisticated mechanical systems and
equipment. Cash & Associates has prepared numerous structural/seismic analyses
of new and existing building systems (i.e., ceilings, floors, roof framing) to determine
capacities to support equipment loads. Work has included development of designs for
structural/seismic strengthening, structural steel raised roof-mounted platforms,
penthouses, canopies, ductwork/piping bracing and anchorage, as well as equipment screens,
enclosures, pads, and foundations.
Our most recent work has involved structural engineering services
for the former Conextant Newbury Park facility now known as Skyworks, Inc.
