Coastal Trails
Southern California
Cash &
Associates has been involved in the planning, design and construction of several coastal
trails. This work has included several high profile coastal public access
projects. Our project experience includes paved and unpaved (i.e., crushed rock)
trails, concrete and timber boardwalks, bridges, retaining walls, ADA compliant access,
storm water handling structures, signage, landscaping, and other improvements. We
have prepared construction documents for fully designed structures as well as performance
specifications to facilitate the use of pre-engineered structures such as pedestrian
bridges. Our experience includes conducting public workshops, interviews and
presentations to obtain project input from concerned citizens, local government, State and
Federal permitting agencies, and other stakeholders. We are experienced in the
development of designs that preserve the natural beauty and rustic setting of existing
sites while addressing specific project issues and/or agency concerns such as public
access, safety and/or environmental factors ranging from flooding to the presence of
endangered plants or wildlife. Our experience also includes comprehensive
construction support services.
